Bud Light wins again.......Utlicomm shatters Carroll Glass.....Super hot salsas....Malloy faces possible suspension...Happy 4th of July!

It was a beautiful night on the fairway and greens of the Carroll Country Club for the week 10 action of Men's Supper League.

Your Bud Light team rode the wings of captain Mike Franey's 15 to 3 win over Bob Giguere to gain eight points on flight leader Champion Ford. Long time subscriber, top local amateur, highly successful and more veteran golfer Craig Mertz beat Steve Young 12 to 6. Steve Sinnard was beaten by Scott Monical and Bud Threee Troy Auen was beaten by a hot playing Tony Feldmann. Mertz was low gross with a 3 under par 34. Your Bud Light gained on the leaders but fell one spot to third.

Teeth puller Nick Fangman beat Ron Juergens 12 to 6. Gold guy Mike Loehr beat Bob Linde and head tomato John Gradoville beat seven time Grinnell junior city champion Mike "Jewels" Eckerman 10 to 8. With the big win Tomato John's team moves up to second just 25 points out of the lead with 5 weeks to go.

The flight leading Ford motor cars were not hitting on all cylinders as they took it on the chin from the Templeton Rye boys. Denny Kasperbauer the MVP for the whiskeys with a 13 to 5 win over Monument Man Loren Boyce. Junkyard Dog Cuda Quandt beat Digger Dave Nelson and Kyle Christensen beat Steve Herrin. Clothier Wade Wilkie the only winner for the cars. Papa Joe Pick was not in action for week 10. The cars still maintain the lead in the British Open Flight. For their efforts the whiskeys are leading the US Open Flight with an eleven point lead over defending champion Stiff Sticks.

Badding Construction nailed Active Performance 43 to 29. Tiger Tom Simons the MVP with a 13 to 5 win over Chris Staub. Simons was awarded low net. Dr. Greg Perkins nailed the longest putt on #9.

Defending league champions increased their winning streak to four with a 45 to 27 win over Templeton Savings Bank. Larry "Doc" Sporrer led the way. Mike Nelson and Neal Cross were winners. Fairway Frank Comito was the only loser for the sticks. For their efforts the defending champs gained five points on flight leading Templeton Rye. Bud One Jim Auen was out of action with a broken toe. Lots of rumors of just how that toe was broken are surfacing but since this report is all about fair and balanced reporting I will not comment on any of those reports.

Over in the Zach Johnson division Utilicomm shattered Carroll Glass 48 to 24 to move into second place just 17 points behind flight leading Macke Motors. Wyatt Haukap was the MVP with a 14 to 4 beat down of Andy Reiman. Head cable guy Chad Kanne beat John Deere Benet Snyder 13 to 5. On course reporters for after golf have reported that the five point match following golf was one for the record books.

Macke Motors maintained their top spot with a 38 to 34 win over the King of Beers. Car Wash Todd Pettitt led the motors with a 11 to 8 win over Brad Hempstead. Jeff Minnich had better luck on the golf course than on the water with a 10 to 8 win over t shirt Joel Harris. Fred Dolezal beat Flying Bob Raue. Bus man John Greteman and Captain carpet Randy Bierl battled to a tie. Budweiser team captain Counter top Pat Malloy faces team suspension for his week 10 actions. In this publisher's opinion it was a great call by PGA Professional Paul Tigges to make next Tuesday's league night a fun night. It is hard enough for all of the teams to field a team on a regular night let alone the night before the 4th of July. Good work Paul!

There will be no report next week as this publisher is off to Minnesota to do some fishing and attend the Longville Minnesota turtle races on July 4th! I wish each and everyone you a Happy and safe 4th of July.

As Always "This Bud's For you" and ON IOWA!

Mike Franey
