For the
fifth time of the year the Men’s Supper League ascended on the fairways and
greens of the beautiful Carroll County Club. Your Bud Light team upset an
always Par team 7 to 3. America’s team was led by long time subscriber,
top local amateur, highly successful and more veteran golfer Craig Mertz who
fired a three under 31. Mertz was awarded low gross honors for the third
consecutive week. Mertz has been seen practicing and working on his game a lot this
spring and this publisher wonders if it is the pressure that is mounting from
son Nate? Don’t worry Craig it is not if it is only when he beats you. Mike
Schulz laid down his fishing pole long enough to recover from a loss last week
to win his match. Captain Mike Franey tied his match with some shaky play on
the back nine. Steve “Hans” Auen the only loser and will be riding the pine for
week 6 action. Bud Two Troy Auen was attending a soccer game.
Steve Sinnard was
spotted on the Florida fishing tour where he reeled in some big ones. Your Bud
Light team remains in second only four points behind the defending league
champions Volquartsen Custom.

The
gunners stumbled this week and were well adjusted by the Family Specialty
Medical Center. Casket Kyle Atkinson was the only winner for the guns. Birthday
boy Nic Volquartsen had the candles on his cake blown out but manage to still
find a way to celebrate.
The
Mid Iowa Team finally may have recovered from an early season hangover as they
trounced Fleggard 9 to 1. Papa Joe Pick, Produce Tom Duff and the playing pride
of Willey, Iowa were all winners. Junkyard Dog Cuda Quandt tied his match with
John Feld despite a one under 33.
Carroll
Glass beat Wittrock Motors 6 to 4. John Deere green Benton Snyder and Brad
Stork led the way for glass guys. Brock Jones and Dr. Dave Nystrom were winners
for the motor company.
Graddy’s
Salsa spilled salsa all over the new carpet of Carpet One. It looks like
Captain Tomato John has given the team a much needed pep talk although he was
the only loser for the team. I guess three out of four isn’t bad. Diamond Mike
Loehr, a subbing Catfish Ed Tomka and Dr. Decay Nick Fangman were all winners.
Brad Hempstead the only winner for the carpets. The salsas were awarded low net
team.
A
huge night for Pat Macke’s cell phones of Verizon Wireless. Wyatt Haukap, Pat
Macke, Michael Kasperbauer and Karl Christensen were all winners. Grant’s dad
Pat was low net.
Over
in the Zach Johnson division saw Ag Venture remain hot with a 9 to 1 win over
Feld Security. It looks like Mike Schulz needs to check his own alarms as they
keep going off the wrong way. Brady Evans, Denny Kasperbauer and Dr. Neal Cross
were all winners. Easy Ed Vanderheiden tied his match with the head bus driver Jeff
Greteman. The Aggers were awarded low net team.
The
Highway 30 Car Wash cleaned the grime off of Linde Equipment 6 to 4 and now is
tied for second with Champion Ford. Randy Bierl and new subscriber Curtis Stork
were winners for the washes. Stork nailed the longest putt on 9 and shared low
net honors with Dr. Neal Cross. Bill Linde and Brad Woodward won for the
equipment dealers.
Champion
Ford topped the King of Beers 7 to 3. Counter Top Pat Malloy the only winner
for the King of Beers. Head Golf Professional Nick Schon tied Digger Dave
Nelson. Wade Wilkie and Steve Herrin won for the car company. The highly
anticipated return of Fred Dolezal will not come soon enough as this team is in
need of some help.
Carroll
Cycle Center laid rubber all over Byronz Boys 8 to 2. Jamming Joe Hinners,
Corey Buml and Head Hog Terry Ruchti were all winners. Bluml was awarded low
gross. Rich Hartley was the only winner for the boys.
Community
Oil broke the most mature team Stiff Sticks 8 to 2. Sam Wilkie, Todd Kanne and
Jerry Janson were winners for the oil jobbers. Nothing reportable for the
sticks.
This week's Uncle Bruce Players of the week are Corey Bluml and Pat Macke!
Happy Belated Birthday to Keeley Sinnard! Hope you are having a great birthday month!
Thanks for the EMS of Carroll County for 40 years of service. What dedication it takes to help others in their time of need at all times of the day and night. Join them tomorrow at Graham Park Shelter house from 10 to 3. Thanks!
Can you tell which one is me? Offensive lineman Brandon Scherff joined over 500 Carroll Area Hawkeye fans in Arcadia for the spring outing.
As always this Bud's for you and ON IOWA!
Respectfully submitted,
Mike Franey
