Ultra still on top.....Gradoville on fire...great things happening at Carroll National!

Welcome to the golf season and the start of a new era at the Carroll National. I would like to thank Nick Nurse for caring enough about his hometown to invest in saving the golf course. The course is a valuable resource for our area and the future looks bright.

Welcome to Michael Prenger and Brian Billmeier for joining the team!

Week 7 of the Carroll National Super League is in the books with Supper’s League favorite team still atop the standing.

Long time subscriber, former top local amateur, highly successful, 2022 and 2023 Senior City Champion, avid bike enthusiast, and very veteran golfer Craig Mertz led the way for the Ultra team shooting a one over 37 on the front nine and beating Bud 7 Tyler Auen who was subbing for Bud One(which is violation of team rules), Jim Auen, who was attending the first Carroll Merchants game at historic Merchants Park. Curt Kirsch was also a winner beating Fairway Frank Comito. Bud Three, Steve Hans Auen tied with Trusty Mike Nelson. Nelson was struggling with an eye issue and worked through it to tie his match. Bud Two, Troy Auen tied the playing pride of Templeton, Iowa Doc Sporrer. Mouthpiece Mike Franey had the night off and came out to support the team. Overall, a good night beating Supper League's most mature team, Stick Sticks. Mertz and Kirsch scored extra points for the team.

Westside State Savings Bank took it to OH BOBBY 7.5 to 1 and sits in second .25 behind America’s Team. Matt ‘Flosh” Fleshner was the MVP for the bank team shooting a one-over (which was even par last year) 37 to tie Mertz for low gross.

Carroll Glass stayed in third place with a 6 to 2 win over Average Joe’s. Lidderdale Country Store Catering’s head chef Brad Stork, Benton Snyder and the team captain who showed too much fear to even play when the glass company played Team Ultra were all winners.

Carpet One Floor and Home and Champion Ford battled to a tie. Bone Cracker Brad Pick and Colin Bierl were winners for the carpets. Two special event points from Wade Wilke and Tyler Putney helped the car company.

Sharp Funeral Home cooled the loud pipes of HD of Carroll. Techie Nic Volquartsen and Numbers Bobby Muhlbauer were winners for the caskets. The assistant oil jobber Todd Kanne was the only winner for the cycles. Where was the head casket?

Graddy’s Tomatoes took six points from par. The tomatoes rode the hot shooting of Tomato John who was on fire shooting a one under 33 on the back nine and collecting both low gross and low net honors.

Respectfully submitted,

ON IOWA AND GO HAWKS!
